“The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place.” -Barbara De Angelis
This is a space for all the sometimes confident, sometimes weird, sometimes cute, sometimes smart, but always real women who are navigating and figuring out the steps to their dance.
I started this blog as a space for young women who are just trying to live their best lives; the same as me. Particularly, I want this to be a space for young women who are immigrants, refugees, or first generation because we often find ourselves dancing a delicate dance in-between different worlds.
I am often conflicted by my Western socialization and my native culture. My family came to the United States in the early 90’s and I’ve grown up all over since then. Now, in my twenties, navigating and finding my voice while being part of cultures that often times conflict hasn’t been easy to say the least.
This is a community where we discuss all of the challenges that come along with growing up and finding our voices. This is a community where we celebrate all of the amazing things about one another. This is a community where we share all of the little things that make us, us!
I am a 20-something third year law student who is gearing up for life in the “real world”. When I am not immersed in my law books, I am reading, traveling, taking photos, clubbing, brunching, (should be working out), and just enjoying (or not enjoying) life. This blog serves as a community where I document all of the above.
